Join me in turning Earth observation into real-world impact.
I work at the intersection of science, technology, and societal impact.
As an independent consultant, I help teams and organisations develop and use Earth observation (EO) technologies through:
- Strategic Design – Aligning EO technology with your mission and measurable outcomes, including independent technical reviews and support for human‑centred adoption.
- Solution Development – Prototyping sensor‑agnostic, scalable solutions, using AI and cloud technologies only where they add clear value.
- Operational Implementation — Developing and optimising large‑scale automated workflows for performance and cost, supported by targeted capacity development.
- Capability & Program Support — Providing training and technical program management to support long‑term sustainability of EO capabilities.
Where appropriate, I support open science and open-source approaches.
About Me
I am a scientist, data scientist, and multidisciplinary team leader. My style is shaped by over 20 years of professional experience, scientific curiosity, and empathy.
A detailed overview of my professional experience is available in my CV.
An almost complete list of my peer-reviewed publications can be found on ORCID.
Cross-Sector Experience
My experience across academia, government, and industry gives me insights into the drivers, challenges, and operating models of each sector. I am deeply motivated by working with people from diverse backgrounds. My best ideas have come from purposeful conversations, built on personal connections and trust.
Remote Sensing
I primarily work with multispectral optical sensors due to their widespread availability, but I'm constantly exploring new technologies driven by curiosity and application needs. To construct the best model of Earth, we need measurements from as many perspectives as possible. The development of the first analysis-ready synthetic aperture radar dataset and exploration of hyperspectral data for landscape characterisation are just some examples of my work.
Turning Data into Insights
The value of data lies in the insights it reveals. My professional career started with surveying the sky, studying powerful cosmic explosions to understand the history of the universe. Today, I analyse Earth observation data to map natural resources and track environmental changes. I take a purposeful approach, starting with the real question and balancing accuracy with practicality.
